Images taken in Berlin in front of the French embassy the night and the days following the attack on Charlie Hebdo in Paris in January 2015.
Similar attacks followed in Copenhagen, Paris, London, Bruxelles, Orlando, Istanbul, Nice, Stockholm, Berlin, Manchester, Barcelona, Carcassonne, Strasbourg, Utrecht and many other cities throughout the world.
In September 2019 I’m invited by the Institut Français and ArtDialog in Bonn, Germany to join esteemed fellow photographer Pia Parolin in an artist talk. We will discuss if art can help to overcome the experience of terror.
Pia’s work on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France “L’amour triomphera toujours” is currently on show at the Institut Français in Bonn, Germany. This work is Pia’s artistic reaction to the attack on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
